Patient Reviews
Jul 09, 2021
This evaluation is based on my experience with Dr. Cater, who has been treating my 90-year-old father. Although the office staff was typical for a Pittsburgh medical office (slow, brusque, insensitive) and the med tech was non-communicative, Dr. Cater was everything you hope a physician would be -- attentive, communicative, sensitive to the fact that elder patients are sometimes hard of hearing, and willing to take his time to talk through any concerns. He pinpointed issues to pay attention to, and was not dismissive of any questions we asked. He was clearly listening to my father's responses to his questions, and as part of the physical exam checked up specially on everything that came up in their conversation about my father's general health. Within hours after the last appointment, a full, comprehensible report was posted to the patient portal. He is the best medical professional I have encountered since moving to Pittsburgh 5 years ago.

Board Certifications
What’s a board certification and why is it important that my provider has one?

A board certification represents a provider’s dedication to ongoing training in one or more specialties, including the completion of intensive exams. While not all specialties have board certifications, if your provider does have one they’ve taken the extra step to master their specialty and to keep up with the latest advancements in their field.
