Patient Reviews

Torn menisci, left knee. Visit 1, “let’s wait 6 weeks and see if pain lessens or gets worse”. Visit 2, (pain worsened considerably), “let’s get an MRI”. Visit 3, “clearly, there is damage to both menisci, so here’s 3 options”. I opted for surgery. The past 2 weeks post-op, I was totally unprepared to be living alone with none of the safety products. No chair for shower. No means to negotiate stairs from my apartment, then a long walk to my parked car. No means to make large quantities of ice for Breg Knee Icer. I had to call to get a RX for crutches, (useless in a small, carpeted, one BR apartment). And a bone on bone right knee that took a beating compensating for a post-op left knee.My point is, Dr S could have asked a few questions prior to surgery so he could inform me of my post-op needs. Needless suffering could have been avoided. He’s a good doctor. A Philadelphia Magazine Top Doctor. But I’m 67 and live alone. Pre-surgery patient preparation is not his strong point.

Board Certifications
What’s a board certification and why is it important that my provider has one?

A board certification represents a provider’s dedication to ongoing training in one or more specialties, including the completion of intensive exams. While not all specialties have board certifications, if your provider does have one they’ve taken the extra step to master their specialty and to keep up with the latest advancements in their field.
