I met with Dr Lane shortly before my lung surgery. After explaining all the reasons for my request, I asked Dr Lane if he could use a smaller tube for my intubation. Dr Lane then explained to me that because of the type of procedure I was having, he would in fact have to use a larger tube than normal. He assured me that he would be careful, but I was pretty much resinged to the fact that my throat recovery would be much longer than my surgical recovery. I am now 3 days out from my surgery and I have not had any pain or reaction to the anesthesia whatsoever. I don't think that big old tube ever touched my throat. Thank you Dr Lane. Thank you, thank you.
