Very, very good! He gave me cortisol injections at the base of both thumbs for overuse arthritis until they didn't work anymore. About 2.5 years ago elected to have a right-hand surgery to remove the trapezium bone - the standard of care still- without harvesting any tendon from my forearm at my request. Instead, he did a 'tightrope procedure,' which has a quicker recovery time (still about a year).Then 2 months ago I elected to have the same surgery on the left side, where my increased osteoporosis required him to slightly modify the procedure, so recovery might be a little longer. I would do this again, despite the long recovery time. While I still have wrist/hand arthritis pain, the most intense source has been eliminated. Dr. Dancea is chronically late but is a very affable provider and I have much confidence in his surgical competence. I hope you can see him if you need him!
