I had to find another pcp after my Montefiore Hospital Family Medicine (Oakland) pcp retired. Arranging an appointment was very smooth and relatively fast (in fact I kept getting messages for option of an earlier appointment but I passed as I wasn't in a major hurry). I am a fellow UPitt Health Sciences professional (dentist), I got a recommendation for him from an MD friend whose opinion I really trust. Dr Schick heard me very carefully, asked me all the right (in my experience) questions and insisted on a more extensive physical soon after my initial visit -I was pleasantly surprised, most upmc physicians will see you only as often as it is absolutely needed. Gave me all the treatment options, suggested and referred me for a very expensive imaging exam, the same actually as the one I had asked my Montefiore pcp to refer me for, who said she would but a little reluctantly -I was borderline and pcp's avoid conflicts with insurance. Very pleased, I feel lucky I had to change pcp's.
