I've been a patient of Dr. Malik's for almost 5 years now. She is the first doctor in a long while that I feel is worth my time and actually helping me. She never seems rushed in her appointments and truly listens. I feel like for the first time my opinion in my health care is acknowledged. I am not an easy patient. I google medical info, am resistant to medications, miss tests and am pretty confident that I can "do things on my own". She always greets that comment with a smile, and makes deals with me that if my way hasn't worked by next visit, I will try hers. She is so patient with me! She has her staff hound me to get my tests done. I'm sure they hate me, but she really cares. My diabetes has never been in better control than now, and because I feel heard and part of the decision making, I am making a better effort to get healthy.
