Dr. Nikolla was my anesthesiologist for my planned C-section. She was reassuring, she explained what was happening every step of the way (before it happened), and she was constantly checking in on me while the procedure was happening. I was terrified when the procedure started and she picked up on how I was feeling. She was also expecting a baby, so I could tell she was speaking to me, mother-to-mother. When they wheeled me out of the OR, the OR staff had handed my husband our baby. Dr. Nikolla told the staff to take the baby back, help my husband out of the room (where there were tons of wires/cords/things all over the floor), and then give him our baby back. I know this sounds cheesy but I felt like I had a friend looking out for me rather than this anesthesiologist whom I had never met before. And the important part: She did a perfect job. I didn't feel a thing during the procedure and had no complications afterward.
