If you're looking for someone to coddle you, find another doctor. But if you want the best surgeon in the area, pick Dr. Thigpen. I was a bit concerned about the 1-star reviews. However, many of my friends knew someone who had been operated on by this doctor -- and all were extremely satisfied with him. He removed by gall bladder, I feel great, and three weeks later my incisions are almost completely healed. I highly recommend him!
