In 2014 Dr. Ombaba performed a new CMC joint surgery method (at the time) on me. The bone is removed and then the thumb is attached to the index finger via a "string" tether. I'm not entirely certain, but I think the procedure in called CMC tether. Dr. Ombaba was very professional and patiently drew pictures and explained everything, all questions I had were answered. Since I will eventually need the surgery on my left hand as well, I would not hesitate to entrust my care to dr. Ombaba again.
