After failed attempts to address my sleep apnea, started in the 90s with a mouth piece that failed miserably, tried the CPAP machine in 2017, failed miserably. I toss and turn constantly in my sleep and would wake up to the mask twisted with air leaking out, then to find out some of the side effects of the CPAPAerophagia- air is inadvertently injected into the stomach and bowel resulting in painful abdominal bloating. I’m not interested in “CPAP belly” yes it is a termAlso causes dry mouth and nostrils Anyway I was thinking my only option was inspire, I found it involved implementing this device under your skin and a wire runs up your neck. Thinking that I was out of options, I asked my doctor about the mouth piece, hoping it had changed over the years, and boy has it. I was referred to Atlantic Dental Sleep Medicine where I met Dr Jacqueline Bonci DDS and after getting fitted for my new mouth piece, works great, I have way more energy and life’s great!Thank you Dr Bonci
