Patient Reviews
Mar 07, 2021
Dr. Jason Cafer is an inpatient psychiatrist at SSM St. Mary's in Jefferson City. Our daughter was cared for by him for an extended period of time in the inpatient Behavioral Health Unit (2021). We thank God we learned about Dr. Cafer. We saw first hand how he provided thoughtful and compassionate care. He communicated with her daily, and (with permission) with us every week or so. He was patient as we parents had questions that arose from reading articles and books and from watching videos about mental health issues, and he thoughtfully responded to our questions. Dr. Cafer recognized what our daughter needed based on our family's culture--she felt his suggestions to feel the presence of God through prayer and daily reading made a huge difference. He was a careful observer and was attentive to what she was saying, which occasionally led to some changes or adjustments in medications. Dr. Cafer gave our daughter and us hope. We believe he saved her life.
