Patient Reviews
Nov 26, 2023
Had emergency retinal damage complicated by c.o.v.i.d absences, referral logistics. First 2 opinions were full OR surgery. Recovery time 1 year: 1st 5-10 weeks face down 24/7. Side effect: cataracts: so 1-3 more surgeries. Full time time caregiver needed. Prognosis; blindness-50% sight. Appt time:15 mins.Word-of-mouth led to Northern CA Vitreous Associates. They cut through the red tape and I met Dr Wang same day. He’s caring, approachable, impressive resume and accomplishments. He did a through exam, responded to my concerns, and recommended an in-office, awake protocol: 5-10 DAYS down time, fewer restrictions, lost income, expense, 20% better prognosis, OR on standby.Trust earned, he began right away.My progress surpassed full surgery outcomes at 4 weeks and surprised us both at 1 year with perfect 20/20 vision…for the first time in 20 years! He smiled humbly. I cried tears of joy.Dr. Wang is very gifted and I thank him every day for the priceless gift of my sight.

What’s a board certification and why is it important that my provider has one?

A board certification represents a provider’s dedication to ongoing training in one or more specialties, including the completion of intensive exams. While not all specialties have board certifications, if your provider does have one they’ve taken the extra step to master their specialty and to keep up with the latest advancements in their field.
