I saw Dr. Sauer to get a second opinion on my options for surgery for osteoarthritis in my big toe joint. I'm SO glad I made this appointment! He presented options that no one else had, and was very honest re: what strategies worked, and which don't., UNLIKE EVERY OTHER PODIATRIST I'VE EVER BEEN TO in the 20+ years I've been seeing doctors for this problem. He's very low-key and kind, does not push an agenda, and leaves it to the patient to choose the best option. Too bad he's retiring soon.
