Dr. Smith was wonderful, yet pragmatic and straight to the point. I had been clinically diagnosed as borderline and bipolar, yet no medication was sustainable. Also, I was not experiencing the mania associated with these types of disorders, and later learned that these illnesses are misdiagnosed approximately 75% of the time in the US. Dr. Smith evaluated me and to my surprise explained that medication would not help with my particular problem: Anxiety and reactive based behavior brought on by a hyper active amygdala (adrenaline glands).The Dialectical Behavior Therapy literally saved my life, my relationships, and any sense of a normal future I might hope for. THANK YOU Dr. Smith.
