I am a Lichen Sclerosus patient. When I saw Dr. Krapf, I was only 25 and felt devastated by my diagnosis. I lost a lot of my anatomy and experienced tearing. I had many doctors look at me and I felt hopeless with them. Dr. Krapf and her team in DC were a totally different experience. They actually listened to me. They showed humanity instead of just throwing stats and medical jargon at me. Dr. Krapf was so beyond helpful in explaining what was happening to my body and what could help. LS is a progressive disease and can really take a toll on you. It’s been an up and down rollercoaster and the future is uncertain but since I followed her advice with baths, steroids, and dilators, I have been mostly symptom free! After reoccurring tearing, Dr. Moss performed a lysis of adhesion surgery on me. It was a lot for me mentally and they made me feel so comfortable! I have hope that with LS I can live a normal life. And thanks to them, I have been for the past 3 years. Thank you so much!
