Patient Reviews
May 20, 2019
We saw Dr. McQuitty about 40 years ago at Oakland Children’s. He was calm, radiated to children and their families. He was first to properly diagnose her with a very unusual form of asthma that caused our child to bark as though she had croup and caused her to cough day and night both winter and summer. She had trouble with the exhalation rather than the normal inhalation. Her struggle to breath was called stridor. Doctors in our very small town didn’t know how to treat her. She was definitely an outlier to other “normal” asthmatic children. . They even blamed me. She grew up struggling with asthma and pneumonia. She went on to be always sick yet she graduated from UCLA and Yale School of Drama. While she has never thrived physically, Dr. McQuitty was the first in 1980 to give a solid diagnosis and help her pediatrician understand not all children have “textbook” cases of asthma or any disease. Thank you Dr. McQuitty. You made a difference in my daughter’s life.

What’s a board certification and why is it important that my provider has one?

A board certification represents a provider’s dedication to ongoing training in one or more specialties, including the completion of intensive exams. While not all specialties have board certifications, if your provider does have one they’ve taken the extra step to master their specialty and to keep up with the latest advancements in their field.
