Thorough, Businesslike, Thoughtful and Sensitive As a patient how can I evaluate an MD? Well, for one thing I was a cripple when I started with him and thanks to him and his colleagues I now walk without a cane and with hardly any pain.. He and his dept. put me on a course of (minimal) meds and (maximum) PT and I haven't fallen or needed a cane, support / brace or other in 18 months. I guess that means that Dr. Waterman is a superb practitioner. Hurrah!!!! [age 85 / VA patient]

What’s a board certification and why is it important that my provider has one?

A board certification represents a provider’s dedication to ongoing training in one or more specialties, including the completion of intensive exams. While not all specialties have board certifications, if your provider does have one they’ve taken the extra step to master their specialty and to keep up with the latest advancements in their field.
