Met Dr Auguste for the first time today, for possible gallbladder removal surgery. I’d been dismayed that I could find NO patient reviews or ratings for her online beforehand (despite her 12 years in practice) - which gave me pause, but this is exactly why I’m writing this. I went in with quite the list of questions for her, and was surprisingly and seriously impressed by her responses and explanations, as well as by the fact that she wanted to be sure that she had addressed all of my questions and concerns before she left. TBH, I went in hoping to NOT like her, and to find reasons to dismiss her as my potential gallbladder surgeon - which would then enable me to continue to avoid such surgery (despite suffering two years’ worth of increasingly frequent, quite painful gallbladder attacks). However, she managed to convince me (without any pressure whatsoever on her part, but simply by fully explaining everything) that I should have the surgery, and why - which was no small feat.
