Simply put, I do like Dr. Grigsby and he knows how to get things done that other providers do not. He’s also been very willing to spend a long time with me when I have needed it. He is by far the best doctor I have found who takes Medi-Cal/Valley Health Plan. The other primary care providers I’ve seen have been terrible when it comes to actually knowing how to get things done within the Medi-Cal system, meaning the end result was I was left with zero medical care/treatment and they were essentially like “oh well, that’s too bad.” He is not like that at all, which is why I will continue to see exclusively him for primary care things. The only main issue I have run into is that his staff tend to not know how to adequately do referrals or prior authorizations, which can mean difficulties in getting medications or getting in with necessary specialists. Partly, I’m sure that’s because Medi-Cal is so awful, so not completely their fault.
