One year ago, I reached into my dogs mouth to prevent him from chewing on something he wasn't supposed to and lodged my index finger in the back of his jaw as he bit down. My finger tip was partially amputated. It was a traumatic experience and although in the grand scheme of things - it's just a finger tip, I was scared about losing it and what it may look and function like. Within a few days after my ER visit, I had surgery with Dr. W. In the pre-op he shared the risks of surgery which made me nervous however I appreciated his honesty and management of expectations. This was my 1st surgery experience. He exceeded my expectations, saved my fingertip (AND my nail which was detached at the root) and my finger and nail looks surprisingly normal for what happened to it. His team was incredible - they had a way of easing my mind and calming my nerves with my ongoing fear of IF my finger was healing okay (It was!). I am very thankful. Rest assured, you are in good hands with Dr. Woodward!
