Dr. Fontana saved my life in 2006. He and his team found a carcinoid tumor in my lung early. His bedside manner is one of a loving family member. When he revealed the tumor to me, it was the look in his eyes that somehow gave me strength for the news that followed. Very knowledgeable and caring about every patient. Heck, I'd venture to say everyone he encounters because you'd be hard pressed to find any of his NIH colleagues or staff that would say otherwise.
