I had emergency late-night surgery with Dr. Whang, whom I was meeting for the first time. Her calm, empathic, and obvious competency reassured me immediately. It helped that my primary care physician had already clued me in that I had lucked out in getting an outstanding surgeon who happened to be on call when I needed her.
