I am from another state and was referred to an orthopedic surgeon for a minor surgery for a fluid filled cyst removal on my foot. This was in sep of 24. My incision never healed & in Oct the same orthopedic surgeon cut it open again to debreed it was infected. It never healed properly and I had constant problems with foot. Now it Feb of 2025 and I visitFlorida again and wake up 1 am & that same foot throbs & swollen. I had emerg surgery and was lucky enough to have Dr Pena as my Podiatrist& surgeon. My bones in my foot were now infected with osteomyelitis and my blood was infected from septic arthritis in my toe joint. Dr pena made me feel so comfortable & I had faith in his abilities and he went in and cleaned out the infection and while in there found that from the MRI prior to my surgery my tendon to my big toe had been cut from the prior doc back home. Dr Pena found the tendon & stitched it up so that my toe is straight again and cleared all infection from my foot and body.
