I was referred to Dr. Koneru by the surgeon who did my breast cancer surgery. I had a large (6 cm), moderately aggressive stage 3a tumor with node involvement. Dr. Koneru recommended the standard of care chemotherapy regime as well as referring me to for radiation treatment locally. From the beginning, Dr. Koneru was very warm, kind, and easy to speak with. She explained things clearly. I asked her to speak, by phone, with another doctor who was a specialist back in NY (where I was from). Someone else might have felt put on the spot or even insulted, but Dr. Koneru never appeared defensive or uncomfortable. She has always been very willing to answer my questions. I am very grateful for her eagerness in making me more comfortable physically and emotionally. She helped me get through the lengthy treatment feeling well-supported, and has continued to be just as supportive. She spends as long as one needs with her patients. I see her yearly at this point.
