I’ve had six surgeries for Crohns since being diagnosed 35 years ago. Two of those surgeons were good, two were okay, and one made mistakes that nearly killed me. My most recent surgeon was fantastic: Dr. Baysinger. Dr. B is confident without being cocky. She is down-to-earth, looks you in the eye, clearly explains complexities, is knowledgable on current techniques, doesn’t patronize, takes as much time as needed to explain procedures, possible outcomes, the tricky parts, etc. Dr. Baysinger takes her job seriously without taking herself too seriously. That’s a rare thing in her profession. Seriously! If you need colo-rectal surgery in RI, make the appointment. She’s the one.
