Having recently moved into this area, I needed a dentist for my semi-annual checkup and a cleaning. Looking on line in Gainesville and Denton, I found several possibilities. But, all of them said that the first session was an examination that yielded a treatment plan; not what I wanted. So, I kept digging and ran across Dr. Kelley Wimmer’s site, which said nothing about the first session being an evaluation, interesting. Dr. Wimmer’s web site speaks to how they can help their clients and touts their staff; Baylor, MSU and TWU make a pretty good team, in my opinion. Their reviews on Facebook reflected that opinion. So, I applied for an appointment and they got me right in. Their office is conveniently located west of Gainesville on US 82. Their lobby is very nicely appointed with convenient access to check in (and the restroom). Their office personnel were well ready to receive me, getting final insurance information and issuing the standard medical history questionnaire. My wait time before Emily, my Dental Hygienist, was short enough that I did not have time to complete my paper work. Her work area was very modern with up to date furnishings and equipment. Emily did use my medical history to clarify a couple of items that she needed more detail about. She then took my blood pressure, a first for me in a dentist’s office. She then proceeded to use water pick and dental instruments to clean my teeth, with a very nice touch. Emily provided an oral cancer screening (extra charge) which showed my mouth to be healthy. Dr. Wimmer came in to take a look at my teeth and gums, using visual and xrays. She, fortunately, could not come up with any problems and scheduled me for a return bout next June. Dr. Wimmer was very business like in her dealings with me, very professional. Just for info, I am nearly ninety years old and my lower front teeth are what one would call a jagged mess, a hygienist’s delight. As Emily said, they tend to attract plaque. I highly recommend this practice.
