For my initial consultation he spent an hour with me going over specifically what my condition was, why it required open heart vs TAVR, what to expect pre, during, and post op, and valve options. He even spent 20min with me in pre-op discussing valve options with me again when I couldn't decide. My surgery went flawless and he visited me twice during my hospital recovery, spending significant time both visits and ensuring an appropriate release timeframe. My 4 week follow-up he spent another hour listening to me, answering my questions, and checking my scar and sternal closure. He even ran an EKG to address my heart rate concerns. Dr. Yount is a patient, thorough, intelligent surgeon with an excellent bedside manner who understands what you are going through and will listen to you and put you at ease.
