Five years ago, I was in a great deal of pain. It was like I had an excruciating UTI 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This ordeal went on for over a year. Finally, I found Dr. Kenneth Hsiao. He told me about a new operation that none of the other urologists I had seen knew existed. It is called Aquablation. In Northern California, only one doctor, Franklin Lai, performed the operation. Dr. Hsiao assured me I was the perfect candidate and would try to persuade my healthcare provider, United Health Care, to cover it. Dr. Hsiao wrote such a detailed explanation of why this operation would be best for me that United Healthcare covered the operation 100% even though Medicare had not yet approved it. I never saw what Dr. Hsiao wrote, but I was told by numerous people who had seen his writing that his effort was over the top and the sole reason the operation got approved. My life is so much better today because Dr. Hsiao went the extra mile. BTW, Dr. Hsiao now performs Aquablation himself.
