I understand the nexus of a prior lukewarm review but would not be so harsh. Dr. Hodges is a young 'gonzo' heart surgeon, a skilled technician who trained and worked in some of the world's best hospitals. He seems to give it to you straight which may rub some people the wrong way but in my dialogues with him I found that he may seem be a tad rushed but he's also an action guy, problem solver-type. The bottom line on that seems to be whether you want a good technician working on you or a good schmoozer. The prior comment about the team is understandable. I did see Dr. Hodges post-surgery almost every day and his team at least twice a day. I liked most of them. It was a bit confusing knowing who to ask what, etc. I did give him some direct, constructive feedback and he was respectful. It was about taking a more holistic approach pre-and-post surgery. So maybe I'd give him an A for technical skills and a solid B to B plus on the human factors (which is not a bad grade).
