How likely are you to recommend Dr. Perman?
I scheduled an office visit with Dr Perman to see if he would remove a piece of bird shot from beneath my left eye. This fragment was a result of a childhood hunting accident in 1957. This has become increasingly important because most doctors I see want to do a MRI; whether it’s a cardiologist, a podiatrist, or an orthopedic. With this bird shot beneath my left eye, radiology practices would not consider performing an MRI. While Dr Perman was willing and more than capable of removing the bird shot surgically, he wanted to first consult with Dr. Alexander Mark a radiologist in Rockville Maryland. After much discussion they both agreed an MRI was within reason considering the exact location of the fragment was not in a critical area. Also most birdshot in 1957 was lead not steel….therefore non-ferrous and a MRI would not pose an issue. Thanks to Dr Perman I recently took an MRI with Dr. Mark and had no issues with the metal fragment under my eye. My sincere thanks to Dr Perman.
