Dr McCarthy and his staff are very knowledgeable and try to treat you conservatively before suggesting surgery. On certain days you may wait, but that is because he is performing procedures in the morning before clinic. I would rather him take his time on procedures than rush so that clinic appointments start on time. Since the Spine Center has moved and are truly an independent office, I have never waited over 20 minutes to see someone. He has even had his staff fit me in when I have had a spinal emergency. When i first started having back issues, I was referred to a neurosurgeon at the Neuromedical Center and the dr and procedures left me terrified to see someone. I'm glad I was then referred to Dr Mccarthy because the difference between the neurosurgeon and him was night and day. I refer anyone I know with spinal issues to the Spine Ctr - I have eve entrusted them with the care of my Mom. I can't say enough positive things about Dr McCarthy and his PAs!
