I had gone to the Langone ER to have a cyst/abscess on a wisdom tooth lanced. It had suddenly swelled a great deal, was painful and actually hot. At the ER I was told I really should have the tooth extracted; I said I really didn't want to but agreed to talk w/Dr. Goldman. I told her frankly that was afraid, not of pain but of the risk to facial nerves etc. crowded in that area of the jaw, especially because a 80-year-old wisdom tooth might be troublesome (to say the least) to extract. Dr. G. listened to my fears and explained that just the previous week she'd taken a similar tooth out of a 90-year-old with no post-op problems. In short, she inspired confidence, and I agreed to proceed. Next thing I knew the tooth was painlessly out and recovery speedy, despite the fact that it WAS a difficult extraction: Dr. had to open me up from the outside as well as the inside. Follow-up care was excellent, and all in all I feel that I've experienced All-Star dental care.
