I consider it a true blessing that I found Dr. Abode-Iyamah. He is just what I needed - and I think everyone needs! (I had an L4-L5 fusion.) Dr. Abode is a straight shooter, telling you what you need to hear, not necessarily what you want to hear. He is highly intelligent, very likable, thoughtful, exceptionally skilled, and he inspires confidence.I am nine weeks out of the fusion and I see it as a big success. I went to four surgeons before deciding on surgery, and I'm so glad I made the trip to Mayo. I know it's difficult to compare different patients, but I know of three other people who had a similar surgery to mine with other surgeons in the southeast, and I am so much further along than they are. They can't believe how good I feel and what I'm doing.Since I am very active and I have degenerative disc disease, I don't know that this is my last surgery, but I do know who my surgeon will be in the future. I cannot possibly recommend Dr. Abode more.
