My mother had cataracts removed last year. Dr. Nelson is a first-rate surgeon and my mother had good results. My criticisms have to do with office policy. I was helping this office make money by driving my mother to the office, thinking I could drop her off and pick her up in a few hours. I was told *after* I arrived that I could not leave and come back. The reason? They had a small post-op area and sometimes people did not arrive on time to pick up patients. Their thinking was that because *they* had a logistical problem that they had the right to restrict *my* freedom of movement for hours--without prior notice and even though I was helping them make money. If they have a logistical problem, they should not solve it on my back. Also, I contacted them on Thursday to ask for my own appointment. It is Monday at 3 PM and I still have not heard back from them. Until they improve their policies, find another office.
