Patient Reviews
Jun 09, 2023
8 June 2023 - Morning Appointment Honestly, as a medical professional, Dr. Sturridge could not be better! He is the most friendly, caring, patient doctor I have ever had. He not only thoroughly checks and cares for my eyes but has actually helped me get to the right doctors for other medical issues. I would give him ten stars if able! Yes, the wait feels a little long, but waiting in a comfortable room for a great doctor is more than worth it! If I were to break down this entire experience it would look like this: Exam and Discussion with Doctor - 10 Stars! Cleanliness - 5 Stars Exam with nurse - 5 Stars Waiting time - 4.5 Stars Administration - 5 Stars 23 August 2022 - Afternoon Appointment My star review is mostly based on the care, knowledge and considerations of the actual physician. If I were to break down this entire experience it would look like this: Exam and Discussion with Doctor - 10 Stars! Cleanliness - 5 Stars Exam with nurse - 5 Stars Waiting time - 4.5 Stars Administrative (Phone) - 3 Stars Administration - 4 Stars I am starting my review with the most important part, then going chronologically. Exam and discussion with physician: ------------------------------------- When I finally made it to the doctor I was, at least, nice and relaxed. This is when the numbing drops were put in and a test with a beeping light stick was performed by the third nurse of the visit. When the doctor arrived he was immediately concerned, caring and attentive. He asked questions, listened to my answers and didn't rush me through the process. He was incredibly knowledgeable and even though my issue isn't eye related he did everything to set up my referral for a person he feels is the best to help me moving forward. I would recommend him to everyone! Administration: ------------------------ Their system won't acknowledge DoD benefits numbers, instead of fixing it they use SSNs. This is something even the military has been steadfastly trying to stop broadcasting after the rash of identity thefts in the past. (They have even removed them from dog tags) The blonde lady up front did try to help me out with getting documentation regarding this system issue for my personal records but was met with nothing useful. The business manager refused to write something stating this issue and suggested putting in the benefits number and just waiting for the bill and then dealing with it. Which was most certainly not a professional answer to the issue at hand. The other lady up front also made the comment: "do you want to pay for it" after I stated that I did not want to hand out social security numbers. I felt like this was uncalled for since I was merely protecting our personal information not personally attacking her. Luckily, administration is a small part of an appointment. It makes no difference in the care I received. Tests and Exams with nurses: ------------------------------ The nurses were easy to speak with and appeared knowledgeable. I completed medical history, a quick eye exam, eye photos with the first nurse. I also had some other test with tiny lights in it with a second. Then just before setting the doctor a test with numbing drops performed by a third nurse. All of the nurses I encountered were efficient, polite and knowledgeable. Waiting and waiting room: --------------------------- I will admit, the waiting time was a little long today, however, the low lighting, squishy chairs and cool temperature were all very nice and relaxing. It was much better than av typical waiting room experience for sure! I will say, Rachel Ray's weird show where people clap while she cooks wasn't great but I am significantly younger than their average clientele so I can't really complain about the choice.

What’s a board certification and why is it important that my provider has one?

A board certification represents a provider’s dedication to ongoing training in one or more specialties, including the completion of intensive exams. While not all specialties have board certifications, if your provider does have one they’ve taken the extra step to master their specialty and to keep up with the latest advancements in their field.
