I really like Dr. Thompson's approach - does all the appropriate checks, but key is her questioning, 'OK, what do you want to tell me about?' There's always something that you might have forgotten to bring up, and this question tends to dislodge that thing from your brain. Then, after addressing it, comes the, 'What else?' This totally works for me, and I feel I am being seen by someone who cares and either knows what to do or promises to find out, and does. Doesn't feel rushed at all, and great follow-up as well.
