In the Fall of 2022 I was 'diagnosed' with prostate cancer by a urologist in San Diego who said I don't have much time and he needed to perform surgery immediately. I was referred to Dr. Kiumars Bakshandeh by a dear friend who encouraged me to get a second opinion. After thoroughly examining my MRI, prostate biopsy, nearly 40 pages of blood work reports and performing a physical exam, Dr. Bakshandeh concluded I did not have cancer, but instead had severe chronic prostatitis. He prescribed antibiotics at that first appointment and that night I immediately experienced relief after a couple years of being in severe pain. Since then I have progressively been feeling like my previous healthy self before I became so ill with prostatitis. Dr. Bakshandeh is a very kind and caring person, as well as being a brilliant doctor.
