There was a time when film and TV productions would send actors to Dr. Katz to get a physical exams for insurance purposes. I had so many appointments with Dr. Katz over the years. A very funny, amicable, sincere guy. I haven't seen him in over ten years. He used to say to me, 'I saw you in something where you were robbing a bank. You were very good. I'm going to take your blood pressure.' One time I had a clogged ear and went to see him. I made the appointment myself. It had nothing to do with an acting job or anything. He got out what looked like a cake icing bag or tube. 'I'm about to perform a small miracle,' he said. And he got the wax out of my ear. I miss that guy. I'm glad to know he's still working and still has his office there on 10th street off 5th Avenue.
