I have been Dr. Schenkman's patient for several years. Recently I had to have a hysterectomy. She made the process so comfortable and my experience at Duke Regional Hospital was fantastic. I am surprised by the negative reviews, because I have definitely had my share of bad experiences with healthcare providers but Dr. S has been the opposite. She's kind, friendly, always thoroughly explains things and answers all my questions. My husband and best friend were there for the surgery and she kept them up-to-date and they commented on how great she was. My friend is a nurse so had that perspective as well.
