Patient Reviews
Aug 03, 2024
On April 30, 2023, I rushed my father to the ER at Loyola Medical Center. He was struggling to breathe, even with 10 liters of oxygen per minute. Before his heart attack in June 2022, my dad, 75, enjoyed walking up 16 flights of stairs. After reaction to C?V?D v?cc?ne, a blood clot and 3 failed interventions, his heart failed completely. After 4 hospitalizations, Dr. Mamdouh Bakhos at Loyola was our last hope. He was professional and kind, addressing all my questions. On May 10, 2023, Dr. Bakhos spent 5 hours in OR and replaced my father’s mitral valve and repaired his tricuspid valve. Northwestern refused to operate due to his age (75), but Dr. Bakhos did at 76, pulling him from the grave. 12 months later, my father is full of life, walking up 3.5 stories without issue. 14 months later, he traveled 1,900 miles to his favorite destination. Thank you, Dr. Bakhos, for giving my father a second chance and a second birthday . We are forever grateful to you and your incredible team.
