Patient Reviews
Nov 19, 2024
I have been a patient of Dr Mark Allen’s since 2018 when a small area of cancer was found on my prostate. Since the area was so small, with the input from DR Allen, I’ve elected to just monitor rather than have surgery to remove, and thankfully there has been no further growth. That being said, my prostate is quite large and was taking medication to help with urination. Due to the enlarged prostate, challenges with urination seemed to get worse with each passing year. During each appointment with DR Allen, he would ask if I wanted a procedure to help with the urination issues but I would decline as I was reluctant to have the procedure. It continued to get worse, I either had a hard time emptying my bladder, of found myself with little time to get to the bathroom. The number of times I woke up each night was getting more and more frequent. During my last semiannual appointment with Dr Allen, I finally decided to have the procedure done called Aquablation Therapy. If you are having similar issues with urination, don’t wait. Dr Allen and his nursing staff, along with the hospital were wonderful. The worst part of the whole procedure for me was the catheter, which was removed a few days following the procedure. I had minimal pain right after the procedure, but that diminish by the end of the first day. Today, just a month after the procedure all the issues with urination are gone and have had no issues at all with sex. My only regret is that I didn’t do this much sooner. I highly recommend Dr. Allen and his team to anyone.

Board Certifications
What’s a board certification and why is it important that my provider has one?

A board certification represents a provider’s dedication to ongoing training in one or more specialties, including the completion of intensive exams. While not all specialties have board certifications, if your provider does have one they’ve taken the extra step to master their specialty and to keep up with the latest advancements in their field.
