I was in a serious car accident when I was 9 months pregnant and broke every bone in my face above the mouth. I needed metal plates in my face and a new nose made out of a bone from my skull and plates. Dr Martin Lacey was my surgeon luckily. Obviously it was an extremely traumatic time, but Dr Lacey's professional and calm demeanor made all the difference for myself and my family. One thing I'll hold onto forever.... The night after surgery (with my head cut open from ear to ear and over 50 staples to put it back together) I remember waking up in the middle of the night. Everything was swollen and I could barely see but I heard a chuckle coming from the corner of the room. Dr Lacey was sitting in the chair in the corner of the dark room and he said ' this is as bad as it's going to be, don't worry.' Him being there and saying those words to me meant more than he'll ever know. By the way, I did heal up nicely and he did an incredible job. Forever grateful to Dr Martin Lacey
