I have a health condition that makes me prone to allergic reactions, and I was terrified that I would react badly to something during my c-section. I had a phone call with Dr. Ghods a few weeks before where we discussed everything that would be used keeping my condition in mind. She was clearly knowledgeable about my condition and right off the bat suggested everything I had planned to ask for based on my own reading of peer-reviewed articles. I also knew that my MFM had selected Dr. Ghods for my c-section for a reason, so I trusted her to handle any reactions based on that. Thankfully, I didn't react to anything. Everything with the spinal placement with smoothly on the first attempt. Moreover, Dr. Ghods stood by my head the entire time answering all of my questions (Is it normal to feel X?) and constantly reassuring me that everything was going well. I was trembling from adrenaline going into the procedure, so it was so comforting to have her do that, it meant the world to me.
