Patient Reviews
Oct 23, 2024
I am male and 71 years old, in pretty good health although I have kidney disease and then got an inguinal (groin) hernia from lifting some heavy boxes. I live near Sedona, Arizona, and was told I would have to wait many months to get a hernia surgery around here. Luckily I have a friend in San Diego who got a successful hernia operation from Dr. Matthew Schultzel, and they set me up for an appointment with his office when I was nearby on vacation. There were two staff members, Jesse and Romi, who were super helpful to get me ready for my surgery. During the surgery, several additional hernias were found, and they were all repaired expertly. Dr. Schultzel is really skillful and nice and made me feel comfortable and well taken care of. Because of the robotic surgery method I healed quickly and well, with minimal discomfort only requiring aspirin for several days after the first day; overall I now feel much better than I ever have in recent years. I highly recommend Dr Shultzel.

A board certification represents a provider’s dedication to ongoing training in one or more specialties, including the completion of intensive exams.
