Patient Reviews
May 01, 2017
Two days ago, Dr. Watkins inserted 2 more stents in my husband's heart during a 90-minute cardiac catheterization. Alongside him was Dr. Abernathy, an M.D. and surgical fellow. As a professor who long worked for a university which had a med school, I've known and consulted more surgeons than most people, & was impressed by Dr. Watkin's consummate skill and by the clarity with which he and Dr. Abernathy explained what they'd done and why. These gentlemen are GEMS.

What’s a board certification and why is it important that my provider has one?

A board certification represents a provider’s dedication to ongoing training in one or more specialties, including the completion of intensive exams. While not all specialties have board certifications, if your provider does have one they’ve taken the extra step to master their specialty and to keep up with the latest advancements in their field.
