Dr. Michael Lai is an incredibly caring and experienced retina ophthalmologist and surgeon, and I highly recommend him. I came to Dr. Lai with several complicated issues in my right eye. I had an epiretinal membrane (or macular pucker) that was causing severe blurriness and distortion, and had an unrelated retinal vein occlusion (RVO) in the same eye that was also causing blurred vision. Dr. Lai clearly explained everything to me and laid out his plan to address both issues. He was honest in his assessment that it could take over a year to resolve the issues, and he was correct. We followed his treatment plan of injections for the RVO and ultimate surgery for the epiretinal membrane (vitrectomy surgery). Dr. Lai successfully resolved both issues. I went from having severe blurred vision in my right eye to now having 20-25 vision. Incredible. Dr. Lai is a miracle worker and I can’t recommend him enough!
