I'm grateful I finally found 5-star UCLA Health Dermatologist Dr. Michael O. Nguyen. He was the first to seriously listen to a 72-yr-old woman's complaints about embarrassing hair loss & a flat, red patch on my temple. The last dermatologist barely glanced at the red patch, even though I told him it would bleed occasionally. Dr. Nguyen examined the red skin patch closely with a magnifying loop. He said it could be either Basal Cell or Squamous Cell Carcinoma. He did a biopsy. I got the lab results in only 3 days with a note from the Dr. confirming it was Basal Cell Cancer & what the next steps were. The very next day his office called me with contact info for the 'Mohs' surgery to remove the cancer. He also examined my scalp & went into detail about benefits & risks of many options for medications, shampoo & supplements that might help hair growth. He is very professional, warm & caring, charming & very funny. I'm confident & comfortable returning for a full-body cancer screening.
