I went into Afib Tuesday 8.08.22 around 10:45 AM. It's been at least a year since I had any episodes. I couldn't get it to stop with my meds, so I ended up in ER by 1:22 PM. Of course my heart rate tanked in the parking lot prior to going inside the hospital. Dr Stengel was my ER doctor. He said it was still good I came in because they needed to check my Troponin level and do an EKG to make sure I didn't have a heart attack. He was very professional, but also a very friendly young doctor. I was released by 4:25 with everything back within proper numbers. He was extremely nice about the way he gently reminded me to find a way to remember to take my meds in a more consistent way, so this didn't happen again. My nurse was extremely nice too, along with the Rad Tech. Even Grace the admitting secretary was extremely personable. Overall I was very impressed with the Ephrata Hospital's ER dept. and the fact they didn't keep me over night for observation.
