I took my 1 year old son for his first visit today. Being a registered dental assistant myself I tend to have high expectations. The assistant we had today (Mohammad?) seemed very nervous and lacking of skills. It must’ve been his first day. He needs some practice with kids. I don’t think he said one word to us the whole time and tried flossing my child’s teeth that aren’t even touching yet. But that’s besides the fact, the dentist herself was positive and professional. I enjoyed interacting with her and so did my child. He didn’t cry at all which was great! The office was nice but man did we feel rushed! The front desk didn’t even ask for insurance cards or anything, and we arrived plenty early. It would’ve been helpful if they mailed us the paperwork because it was about 4 pages long. Oh well I can’t get over that. Next time I hope our assistant is more experienced and interactive with us as the patient, especially being a pediatric office.
