I have been a patient of Dr. Eisenberg for years. I have chosen to continue to see her despite being in a much better mental and emotional place because her counseling adds a great deal of balance and more objective perspective to my life. As a psychiatrist, she is a medical prescriber, and so medications usually enter the conversation. As another patient who ranked her highly here said, her goal ultimately is to get patients to a point of functioning without medications. I disagree very much with the reviewer who gave a one-star rating; however, I would agree personally that the emphasis on benzodiazepines is not my preference. In any case, I eventually stopped taking all medications and Dr. Eisenberg managed this process carefully and conscientiously, and as another patient here said, she is very direct with a no-nonsense attitude, and a perspective that whenever possible, the goal is relative contentment and self-sufficiency without coddling or enabling self-destructive behaviors.
